He predicted that LG Display will capture more than 60 of the OLED and more than 40% of the LTPS LCD share of the global vehicle display panel market in 2026. Based on sales, LG Display’s share of the global vehicle display market, excluding low-end amorphous silicon (a-Si) LCDs, will be more than 50% by 2026.

According to the 2022 automotive OLED screen market report recently released by market research organization Omdia and the current year’s market forecast data, the 2022 automotive OLED screen market share distribution is as follows:

  • LG Display: 50%
  • Samsung: 42.7%
  • BOE: 7.3%

As can be seen from the data, the automotive OLED screen market is still dominated by Samsung and LG two South Korean companies, but BOE from China has gradually made efforts to begin to emerge in the market, BOE will have a higher right to speak in the future.

Omdia’s report said that automotive OLED screens were first mass-produced by LG in 2019, and two years later, LG’s market share soared to 91.3%, while Samsung’s market share was 8.7% at the same time.
