SoftBank released Leitz Phone 2, a smartphone supervised by Leica, Sharp is responsible for manufacturing, as an exclusive product of the SoftBank brand, will be available in Japan on November 18, the price including tax is 225360 yen (currently about RMB 11178).
The Leitz Phone 2 is similar to the Sharp R7 phone in most of its configurations. The phone reflects Leica’s uniqueness in its exterior design, wallpaper, and home screen widgets, and the camera is equipped with Leitz Looks, a shooting mode originally developed by Leica.
The Leitz Phone 2 is available in one color, “Leica White”, which is claimed to be inspired by the Leica M8 White White Limited Edition. The bright white exterior is complemented by a silver chrome frame with knurling on the sides, which is often used for cameras and also serves as a non-slip feature when shooting. The camera is 9.3mm thick and weighs 211g.
As a unique element of the Leitz Phone series, it features Leica’s red “Coke logo”, an original Leica magnetic lens cover and a silicone case with the Leitz logo.
The Leitz Phone 2 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 47.2-megapixel one-inch main camera, and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens that supports full-pixel phase contrast focusing and a 2X improvement in focus speed compared to its predecessor.
In terms of camera functions, Leitz Phone 2 has also been improved by offering three lens modes, “Summilux 28”, “Summilux 35” and “Noctilux 50”, which allow users to take photos with a Leica flavor. In addition, in addition to the black and white mode added in the previous generation, the new generation also added three filters, “Original”, “Cinema Classic” and “Cinema Contemporary”.
It also features a 6.6-inch 120Hz Pro IGZO OLED screen, 12GB + 512GB storage, and an expandable up to 1TB memory card. It has a 5000mAh battery, wireless charging, dual SIM cards, IP65/68 water and dust resistance, and fingerprint/face recognition.
