Kia EV9 spied while testing on the road

While the Kia EV9 was being tested on German roads near the Hyundai Technical Center in Russelsheim am Main, some images of the car were shared on the internet. It is worth noting that the Center is shared by Kia and Hyundai, and it is where all new vehicles meant for the European market are reviewed.

In order to prevent the look of the EV from leaking before the official announcement, some parts of it were camouflaged. Despite being covered, we can still discern its style and appearance. The body panel is similar to the Kia EV9 prototype. Although the windows aren’t as small as those in the prototype and the wheelbase seems to be similar, the roof is unusually low for an SUV this size.

The front and rear lights are visible, and it appears to be very similar to the prototype. The interior is barely visible in some shots but still appears to be finished. It’s also thought to be the final stage of testing, and we may hear some official announcements about the EV soon. Furthermore, no glass roof is visible on the testing variant, but the brand may include one in the final product.

The prototype was 4,930mm long, 2,055mm wide, and 1,790mm tall, making it 350 m longer than the Kia EV6. The car’s wheelbase is 3100mm long, which suggests that we may get more battery support. The standard model will have the 239kW twin-motor AWD system, and Kia claims that with the most powerful setup, the EV9 will sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just over 5 seconds.
