In the first quarter of 2024, cumulative sales at home and abroad reached 50,038 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 76.9%. Looking at the domestic market, Kia currently has 9 models on sale, but the best-selling Kia K3 had retail sales of only 1,089 units in February.

It is also understood that starting from April, Kia’s EV5 export model has begun mass production at the 4.0 smart manufacturing plant in Yancheng, Jiangsu, and the new car will be sold to Australia and other countries. Yueda Kia’s exports will increase to more than 80 countries in 2024. At the same time, the newly added export model Sonet is mainly sold to Central and South American countries such as Mexico, Dominica, and Colombia. At the end of March, the first batch of K5 export models was sold to Uzbekistan, and 12,000 units are expected to be exported in 2024. Yueda Kia officially stated that it will strive to achieve the annual export target of 170,000 vehicles and plans to build the Yancheng, Jiangsu, factory into Kia’s global export base.

In 2023, Kia formulated a medium- and long-term development plan for the Chinese market. It is expected that by 2027, a total of 6 pure electric models will be launched; by 2030, the annual sales target of pure electric models will be achieved at 180,000 units, with sales accounting for 40%. According to the plan, Kia’s flagship electric SUV, EV9, will be launched in China in 2024.
