Jaguar Land Rover recalls 4,699 imported Range Rover plug-in hybrids, Defender plug-in hybrids, and more

It is learned from the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation that Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd. According to the requirements of the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Automobile Product Recall, the recall plan was filed with the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the following vehicles were decided to be recalled.

  1. Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd.

Starting from May 26, 2023, a total of 4,424 imported 2018-2022 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid vehicles produced between March 28, 2017 and June 27, 2021 will be recalled. A total of 97 imported 2022 and 2023 Land Rover Defender plug-in hybrid vehicles produced between May 20, 2021 and June 28, 2022 are being recalled.

The vehicles included in this recall are due to insufficient heat resistance of the coolant elbow. When the engine is overheated, the coolant elbow may be cracked, and the coolant may leak to the heat shield of the turbocharger. In extreme cases, it may cause a fire in the engine compartment. There are security risks.

Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the coolant elbows and turbocharger coolant pipes with new materials free of charge for vehicles within the recall range to eliminate potential safety hazards.

Starting from June 2, 2023, a total of 178 imported 2022 and 2023 Land Rover Range Rover seven-seater cars produced between December 8, 2021 and May 27, 2022 will be recalled.

The locking mechanism on the left seat frame of the second row of vehicles within the scope of this recall may have poor welding, resulting in the seat not being properly fixed. When the vehicle has an accident or emergency braking, the left seat of the second row may be excessively displaced, which will increase the risk of personal injury and pose a safety hazard.

Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will check the locking mechanism of the left seat base of the second row for the vehicles within the scope of the recall. If the locking mechanism of the seat base is found to be poorly welded, it will replace the left seat frame of the second row for free and related parts to eliminate potential safety hazards.

Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd. will notify relevant users of the recall by registered mail or other means.
