JAC Motors announced its entry into the Australian pickup truck market in Sydney on March 20, launching a new right-hand drive model JAC T9 diesel-powered pickup truck specially customized for the local market.

According to reports, Australia’s overall car sales will reach approximately 1.21 million units in 2023, showing a good growth trend. At the same time, Australia’s car consumption trends and structure have changed, and ordinary consumers pay more attention to cost-effectiveness when buying cars.

The T9 diesel pickup truck is scheduled to go on sale in April. JAC will also launch the T9 pure electric four-wheel drive pickup truck and the T9 plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive pickup truck. JAC Motors will also gradually introduce a variety of new energy vehicle products into the Australian market.

Zhang Peng, deputy general manager of Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd., said in his speech that the pickup truck market is one of the largest automotive market segments in Australia, with annual sales reaching 250,000 units. JAC has brought pickup truck products, the group’s core competitive business, into the Australian market, and has carefully created JAC’s top pickup truck products specifically for the local market, hoping to win the favor of more local individuals and families.

JAC’s full-year sales in 2023 will be 592,500 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 18.4%. Among them, the annual sales volume of commercial vehicles, a traditional strength, was 235,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%.
