At its “Far Out” event in September, Apple unveiled iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, keeping much of the design of the iPhone 13 – including the bangs notch for the phone’s selfie camera and Face ID sensor. Apple also unveiled iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with a “Spirit Island” pill screen to show alerts and background activity, a brighter display and AOD display, an A16 bionic chip, new color options and more. iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are available now. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are now available for purchase and the iPhone 14 Plus will be available on October 7.

According to a post by Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has asked Hon Hai Foxconn to switch its iPhone 14 production line to the iPhone 14 Pro model, which translates into a roughly 10 percent increase in iPhone 14 Pro shipments in the fourth quarter.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, “My latest research indicates that Apple has asked Hon Hai to convert the iPhone 14 line to the iPhone 14 Pro line due to strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro series, which will help improve Apple’s product mix/iPhone ASP in 4Q22. Based on the line conversion rate, this translates to Apple increasing iPhone 14 Pro Series shipments by an estimated 10 percent in 4Q22.

Ming-Chi Kuo added, “Only a few component suppliers are currently experiencing order changes in response to Hon Hai’s line conversion (e.g. Samsung Display), and the majority of suppliers are expected to receive additional orders from Apple for the iPhone 14 Pro series in the coming weeks as well.”
