iPhone 14 Pro outlook: battery capacity has increased or remove the SIM card slot

September 5, Mark Gurman said in the latest Power On newsletter that the iPhone 14 Pro model will come with a larger battery – and this will be the second year in a row that Apple has increased battery capacity along with processor performance.

In addition, it seems to him that Apple has been focused on eSIM technology from the beginning, rather than physical nano SIM cards.

There have been several revelations about the “iPhone 14 series having a larger battery capacity”. In June this year, a domestic source revealed information about the new Apple iPhone 14 series.

According to the information, the battery capacity of the standard iPhone 14 is 3279 mAh, while the battery capacity of iPhone 13 is 3227 mAh. Compared with the 3095 mAh of iPhone 13 Pro, the battery capacity of iPhone 14 Pro comes to 3200 mAh.

On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a slightly shrunken battery capacity of 4323 mAh, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a battery capacity of 4352 mAh.

Although Gurman did not discuss the standard iPhone 14 model, if his prediction is correct, users seem to have one more reason to get the iPhone 14 Pro. A large battery and long battery life will always be what users want.

In addition to the pill screen, sources say the iPhone 14 Pro model will look slightly larger overall and have thinner bezels. Gurman summarized what he wants Apple to introduce in these new iPhones.

He said the standard iPhone 14 models will get an upgrade in camera hardware – and that’s about it. He focused more on the iPhone 14 Pro version, and in his final prediction, he sees the new iPhone 14 Pro featuring the following upgrades.

-Front-facing camera with autofocus for the first time;

-Improved facial recognition sensor;

-New 48-megapixel main camera system;

-Improved telephoto and ultra-wide angle sensors;

-Enhanced video recording and low light photography;

-The new A-series chip that never misses a beat

Notably, Gurman talked about Apple’s push for eSIM technology. While there are rumors that the company may drop the physical SIM slot on new iPhone models, it’s unclear if Apple will do so for the iPhone 14 series.

Gurman believes Apple will ramp up its push for eSIM, prompting carriers to prepare to steer users toward eSIM cards rather than physical cards. In fact, Apple is already considering removing the physical SIM slot entirely for some models starting this year or next.
