iPadOS 17 improved front desk scheduling: flexible window position and size adjustment

Apple launched iPadOS 16 update last year, focusing on the introduction of the front desk scheduling feature; in the upcoming iPadOS 17 system, Apple has further optimized the front desk scheduling.

Citing Apple’s official press release, iPadOS 17 allows users to more flexibly adjust the window position and size of the front desk scheduler, giving them further control over their workspace and also supports the built-in camera for external displays.

The iPadOS 17 system greatly enhances the front desk scheduling experience, and while not as flexible as macOS, it is a major improvement over version 1.0.

Apple has also introduced a macOS-side experience that allows users to add new windows to the workspace by Shift-clicking on the application icon.

Apple also detailed during WWDC 2023 that iPadOS 17 can be used with a USB webcam or microphone connected via a USB-C port.

Developers will be able to take advantage of these accessories in their apps through the new APIs available in the iPadOS 17 SDK. Combined, these improvements provide an even better multitasking experience for users using iPad.

According to foreign tech media 9to5Mac, the iPadOS 17 desktop dispatch also lacks a flip mode, using a regular laptop, where you can plug in an external monitor, keyboard and mouse, then close the lid in order to use it as a desktop. But on the iPad, even with these accessories, you must always open the built-in screen.
