Introducing Augmented Reality (AR) shopping, Apple is bringing a major update to the Apple Store

0

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to update its Apple Store app in the future to introduce an augmented reality (AR) shopping feature. This feature allows many Apple products, such as the Mac, to be displayed in AR on the iPhone and receive more information about prices and specifications in a timely manner.

Gurman said Apple began researching the new feature as early as 2020 and has begun testing it in Apple Store apps in recent months, but it’s not clear when Apple will open it to the public. Gurman also said Apple plans to release a companion API for developers so that other retail stores can use the feature as well.

The service is coming soon and will be one of Apple’s most important AR-related products/services and a foray into the headset space,” Gurman wrote in the newsletter. Gurman said Apple’s AR / VR headset is expected to launch this year.
