Intel’s 11th generation Core Rocket Lake CPU comes to the end of its life

0

An internal document obtained by Tom’s Hardware shows that Intel started the discontinuation process for its 11th generation Core “Rocket Lake” series products on February 6th. This means that the 11th generation Core “Rocket Lake-S” series is now on the final stretch of its lifecycle.

Of course, this does not mean that Intel has given up on the 11th-generation processors because this discontinuation process will take several months. At least in this case, Intel expects to take another year to deliver the last batch of orders (the deadline is February 23, 2024).

The flagship Core i9-11900K processor was released 2 years ago and was the last desktop-grade 14nm processor from the company. The processor has 8 cores and 16 threads and has a boost frequency of 5.3 GHz, and it is also the first CPU to bring a Thermal Velocity Boost.

The Xeon workstation series CPU based on the same architecture started the EOL process together with the 11th generation Core-S. Additionally, the Intel 400 and 500 series chipsets also appear on this list. This means that starting next year, Intel desktop products will only be based on the LGA1700 platform and beyond.
