Intel has released an update to its resolution oversampling technology, XeSS 1.1 SDK, with a number of upgrade demos.

The new Intel XeSS 1.1 SDK brings two major updates, including improved visual quality and temporal stability through a new XeSS upgrade model for cross-vendor and integrated graphics cards, as well as an advanced XeSS upgrade model for Razzle Dazzle graphics cards.

The new model incorporates new cores, including a faster XMX core (Razzle graphics), a faster DP4a core (TGL / ADL / RPL iGPU) and a faster cross-vendor core (SM 6.4 GPU).

In terms of performance, gamers will notice a small performance increase as the XeSS 1.1 kernel runtime is reduced across all visual fidelity and upgrade modes. For example, if the goal is to have the game run at 60 FPS, the rendering budget can save an additional half millisecond per frame.

Another PPT shows a gameplay demo of Tomb Raider: Shadow of the Tomb Raider, comparing XeSS 1.0 to XeSS 1.1. The new version removes almost all artifacts encountered in the previous version, such as moiré and flicker.

Finally, Intel also talks about building XeSS for integrated graphics and cross-vendor chips (AMD / Intel / others).

Intel Core i7-1370P integrated graphics card in XeSS balanced and performance mode running a number of games at 1080p (medium quality) as follows, frame rate are slightly improved, such as some games from more than twenty frames to more than thirty frames, into a playable state.
