Intel officials today released a video demonstrating the equipped Core Ultra 1 generation (Meteor Lake) processor notebook in the video playback information.

First, Intel demonstrates the ability of a Core Ultra 1st Gen (Meteor Lake) processor to smoothly playback 8K video (128Mbps bitrate / HEVC) with the latest core graphics.

Intel then demonstrated the ability of a notebook to play 1080p video with the CPU and GPU modules turned off, utilizing the low-power E-core and video decoding unit built into the SoC block. Relying on this low-power video playback capability, the new generation of notebooks on sale at the end of this year is expected to realize a big improvement in video playback duration.

Intel will launch on December 14, Core Ultra 1st generation processors on the introduction of low-power computing island, built-in dual “low power energy efficiency core” (Low Power E-cores), suitable for light loads. The Low Power Island is designed to be located in the SoC Tile of the new generation of processors and includes two new Low Power E-cores to further optimize the balance between power efficiency and performance.

Intel has named the portion of the SoC Tile other than the IO Complex the Low Power Island, which includes components such as the media module, display engine, NPU, IPI, and more, in addition to the Low Power E cores.
