Instagram CEO Says iPad App Not a Priority, May Launch in the Future

0

The popular social media platform Instagram has not been launching a dedicated app for the iPad, and it shouldn’t be in the foreseeable future, as Instagram’s CEO Adam Mosseri has once again said it’s not a priority for them.

In response to some questions from users, Adam Mosseri was asked when Instagram would have a dedicated iPad app, to which the executive replied that he’s “not working on it right now.”

Not to completely kill user expectations, Adam Mosseri also said that having an iPad app at some point would be “a good thing,” but that he thought it was more important to have some other new features.

It is noted that last year Adam Mosseri said that the platform’s user base on the iPad “is still not big enough to be a priority” and that the team is “very focused on other things.

In fact, the iPad has a much smaller user base than the iPhone. According to IDC, Apple shipped more than 42 million iPhones in the second quarter of 2023, while it shipped 10 million iPads during the same period, and for some developers, that difference was enough to make them abandon iPadOS.
