IM Motors has already delivered two models, the L7 and LS7, both priced above RMB 300,000. During the Shanghai Auto Show, IM Motors unveiled its AI4M intelligence strategy and invited celebrity Tang Wei as its spokesperson, generating a lot of attention.

According to Interface News, during the Shanghai Auto Show, Liu Tao, the Co-CEO of IM Motors, was interviewed about the company’s delivery targets, user profile and future product planning. He said that this year’s sales target is 45,000 units and that two future models will be launched to rival Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3, an urban crossover SUV and a sedan respectively, which are expected to be released in the second half of this year and the first half of 2023, with the latter’s smart cockpit, using Qualcomm’s 8295 chip. He also revealed that the 5th and 6th models will feature new technology lines and styling.

In terms of user profiling, Liu Tao believes that the users of the Smart Car are mainly owners of BBA and ultra-luxury brands, who have higher demands and expectations for smart electrification. He believes that BBA has lagged behind Chinese brands in this area and that buying a new BBA energy car is an unwise investment. For the city smart driving technology, IM adopts a combination of “map-heavy solution” and “perception-light solution”, using high-precision maps on roads with high-precision maps and DDLD to predict road network information on roads without high-precision maps.

In March this year, IM Motors delivered 2007 units, including 1937 units of the IM LS7 medium and large SUV, entering the top three pure electric SUVs above 300,000 yuan.
