According to the latest data released by market research agency IDC, the global electric vehicle scale in 2022 will soon exceed 11 million units penetration rate of 14%.
China’s electric vehicle market, driven by improved supply, high oil prices, government subsidies and vehicle company promotions, will reach nearly 7 million units in 2022, with a 31.3% penetration rate.
The top three global players in 2022 are BYD, Tesla, and SAIC-GM Wuling (SAIC-GM Wuling), with a market share of 36.11%.
In the Chinese market, the top three are BYD, SAIC and Tesla, with a market share of 53%.
Note: In China’s electric vehicle market, the top 10 companies in 2022 are all local brands, except for Stella, which is in third place with a 10.3% market share.
