Last week in China, Honor launched the Honor 80 SE, Honor 80, and Honor 80 Pro smartphones. According to a Chinese tipster, Honor is gearing up to launch another Honor 80 series in December. Its display will sport a different design than the Honor 80 trio. In addition, it will feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip.

According to a leaker (Weibo post deleted), the Honor 80 GT will be made official in December. The Honor 80, 80 SE, and 80 Pro are fitted with a curved-edge OLED panel. However, the Honor 80 GT will be equipped with a flat display, which could be an OLED screen.

The Honor 80 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. It is the same chip that fuels the Honor 80 Pro. Since it is a gaming-focused device, the 80 GT may not feature a pill-shaped dual selfie camera cutout on the display in order to provide more screen space for gamers. Unfortunately, there is no information on the other specifications of the device.

The Honor 80 Pro features a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display that offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and a high-frequency PWM dimming of 1920Hz, a max brightness of 1000 nits and supports HDR. A 50MP AI portrait camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture is housed in the pill-shaped notch on the screen. Its back panel has a 160 MP primary camera, a 50 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor.

The Honor 80 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is somewhat underclocked. The processor combines up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device runs Magic OS 7.0, which is based on Android 12. The phone has a battery capacity of 4,800mAh and enables 66W fast wired charging.
