Great Wall Motor’s new vehicle, the Haval Mythical Beast, is currently available in China. This hybrid SUV comes in a total of three models with low fuel consumption tanks. All models come with a 1.5T engine which supports their hybrid system.
On this vehicle, the company flexes its in-house dual-motor HEV architecture. This system comes with a two-speed DHT gearbox with an 11.8 compression ratio. Its dual gear system gives this hybrid SUV two direct drive modes, being power and economic.
In addition to its 1.5T engine, the Haval Mythical Beast DHT also comes with a total power of 179kW. Its toque, acceleration, and comprehensive efficiency measure 530Nm, 100km/h, and 50% respectively. The speed built on this SUV hits its maximum in only 7.7 seconds, which is fast for that instant boost.
There is a total of six driving modes on this vehicle which intelligently switch depending on the driving conditions. The driving modes include EV, series, parallel hybrid, and engine recovery driving modes. Completing the six available driving modes are the economic and economic direct drive modes.
For its design, this hybrid SUV switches the conventional headlight design on the company’s other SUVs for a stripe. This strip runs across the front of the vehicle right above the grill, hence giving it a futuristic look. On the inside are a 12.3-inch and 14.6-inch dual large screen. It also supports an intelligent driving assistant system. This system uses a combination of visual and perspective algorithms to function.
Haval Mythical Beast DHT models, price, and availability
There are a total of three models with this hybrid SUV and each comes with a unique feature. All three models make use of the same 1.5T engine and also come with the same design. The choice between all models comes to the optimization of the engine.
The first model is the 1.5T Smart Collar DHT, this model retails for 153,800 yuan (~$22,972). Following this model is the more expensive 1.5T Smart Engine DHT, which will retail for 159,800 yuan (~$23,900). Lastly is the most expensive of all three models, the 1.5T Smart DHT which retails for 165,800 yuan (~$24,800).
All three models will sell in China and are currently available for purchase. This hybrid SUV isn’t available in other regions at this time. But it might launch in other countries where Haval sells in the coming months.
