Hard drive low frame is not reliable Samsung: to SSD data does not leak must be physically destroyed

How do you handle the data on the disk for hard drives that are ready to be scrapped or returned for repair?

A German consumer recently reported a Samsung 980 PRO 2TB solid state drive for repair, and the remote diagnostic software showed that the solid state drive’s flash memory was badly worn and there were more reported errors, and was told that it was eligible for exchange service.

In raising concerns about protecting sensitive data, Samsung customer service said users can destroy the drive themselves if they are unsure, including drilling or hammering. However, Samsung reminded the need to save photo or video evidence to avoid disputes after sending to the factory.

Samsung’s generous approach has been praised by many consumers, who believe that the company values consumer privacy more than its products.

At the same time, the incident also reminded consumers that relying on software low frame or repeated access to the method does not seem to ensure that the data is not restored, the best way or physical destruction.
