0

After arriving on the macOS platform, OTOY today announced that the GPU renderer Octane X is now available for iPad models with M1 / M2 chips (including iPad Pro and M1 iPad Air), bringing cinematic GPU path-tracking to artists who need to travel or work outdoors.

OTOY says it has optimized the scene navigation and video editing interface especially for the iPad tablet, offering all the features available on the macOS version. Octane X for iPad also supports multi-touch gestures and the Apple Pencil.

For experienced users, Octane X for iPad also supports a keyboard, trackpad, external display, Bluetooth mouse and iPadOS “front desk scheduling”. These features make the overall experience identical to that of Octane X for Mac.

Octane X accelerates modern creative workflows with ACES, OCIO and Deep Pixel EXR rendering, node-based materials, shader and scene graph editors, and AI noise reduction. Artists can also export scenes created in the app to more than 20 3D toolsets, including Cinema4D, Maya, Houdini, Blender, Unity3D, and Unreal Engine.

The official store description reads.

"Octane X is the world's first fastest, unbiased, spectrally correct renderer for macOS GPU production, built from the ground up for a maximum performance on Apple Metal and Apple Silicon, and supporting artist workflows for visual effects, motion graphics, games, design, concept art, and architectural visualization.

Octane X is optimized for maximum rendering performance on AMD Polaris, Vega and Navi GPUs and Intel SkyLake GPUs on macOS Big Sur 11.1 and later.

This exclusive version of Octane X for the App Store features multi-GPU rendering, network rendering (via an additional Octane Enterprise Render Node license), and Apple M1 native GPU rendering support."
