Google’s Jacquard app that turns denim into a touch screen is no longer available

Google, which was ridiculed by many netizens, made another move, announcing the closure of the Project Jacquard application launched by the Google ATAP team. Launched in 2015, the project partnered with Levis to bring touchscreens to denim.

This smart jacket is led by Google’s ATAP department. They added a special fabric fiber material to the left sleeve, which can realize pressure sensing and support touch operation. With the corresponding App, the earphone volume can be adjusted and replaced. Tracks or switching to Google navigation, etc., also supports different functions and settings through custom gestures.

The core component of the Google smart jacket is the button on the left sleeve, which will be responsible for providing power, Bluetooth wireless connection and responding to touch operations of different gestures. As long as the button is removed, the Google smart jacket can be thrown into the washing machine for cleaning, and the touch fabric itself will not degrade its performance.

The Jacquard application failed to start. This could be because your is currently offline, or the Jacquard application is no longer available/supported.
