After the Nothing Phone (1) phone was the first to obtain the Google Personal Safety function, Google announced that it will open this function to more Android models such as Sony Xperia, Vivo and its sub-brand iQOO through the Android 13 update.
The Google Personal Safety function was previously exclusive to the Pixel series of phones. It is an emergency rescue application launched by Google in 2021. It has functions such as car accident detection, location search in emergency situations, and crisis alerts.
Users can add/edit important medical information, assign emergency contacts, get alerts of nearby crises, and on some devices even call for help when a car accident is detected.
Although many Samsung Galaxy phones have pushed Android 13 / OneUI 5.0 updates, none of the Samsung phones currently have Google’s Personal Safety feature. The non-Pixel models currently getting the feature include:
