Google is improving Google TV to make applications smaller and faster. Back in February, Google announced the update to make it easier to find content on Google TV, with additional improvements that will help free up space and speed up system performance.

Google blog said that the new feature of App Hibernation will help Google TV automatically force the application to sleep, and when the application is not used for more than 30 days, the hibernation will start; this update is applicable to Android S (Note: Android 12) and Update your device and it optimizes your system’s storage space when the app goes to sleep. In addition, the Google TV community page announced that Android App Bundles will be used to reduce the size of applications by 25%, which can only be applied to the set of applications that are needed.

Google has also shortened the time it takes to wake up Google TV, in addition to improving the response time between TV and remote button presses, and the time it takes to load animations on restart has also been shortened.

Google announced that these new features have been rolled out, and more improvements are expected to be rolled out before the end of 2023, aiming to enhance the overall user experience of Google TV.
