Google to fight AI image forgery, launch image traceability

0

AI-generated images are now becoming more and more ubiquitous online, and some can even be faked. In response to this problem, Google announced a new solution at the I / O 2023 developer conference.

Google said it will add a new method in the next few months to help users assess whether an image is AI-generated.

Through the “About this Image” tool in search, users will be able to see important contextual information, such as where an image has been seen elsewhere on the web, or when and where a similar image appeared.

As you can see from the image below, this image was first tagged by Google on March 25, 2023.

Later this year, users will be able to use the feature in Google Apps or Chrome’s Lens.
