Google Street View standalone app to cease operations in 2023

The Google Street View App for Android and iOS will cease operations early next year and will be removed from the app store in the coming weeks. A Google spokesperson confirmed that the app will be discontinued starting in March 2023.

This is a dedicated Street View app for Android and iPhone that allows users to use Google’s services to get a 360-degree view of the world. Note that the feature will not be removed from the standard Google Maps app.

The Web version of the Google Street View app will remain, so users will still be able to upload provided images and continue browsing Street View in Google Maps as well.

The Google Street View app will also remove the Street View photo path when it is closed, a feature that was only introduced last year. This allows users to use their own two-dimensional photos to provide images of places not yet covered in Street View. These photos will then be strung together to cover locations that were not captured by Google’s cameras. But existing photo path photos can still be accessed through Google Maps.
