Google Play celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new icon logo and a thriving Android app ecosystem

According to a Google blog post, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Google Play this week. Google said, “Over the past decade, everyone’s hard work and dedication to this global platform have combined to create a thriving app ecosystem. More than 2.5 billion users from more than 190 countries visit Play every month and use the apps and games you build. To date, Play has generated more than $120 billion in revenue for developers.”

Google Play is the primary source for all apps available to Android users. With the 10th anniversary of Google Play, Google highlights how it has evolved over the years and helped developers and users around the world.

In the blog post, Google highlights the success of its major Google Play features such as Google Play Pass, Google Play Instant, Google Play Points, and more. Google also highlights how Google Play is a safe and trusted space with Google Play Protect, the company’s built-in malware protection solution for Android devices. Google also noted how it helps developers of all sizes grow their businesses, invest in local economies, and empower the developer community to bring better apps and games to people around the world.

As part of the celebration of Google Play’s 10th anniversary, Google also unveiled a new icon logo to match the branding shared by many of the company’s products (Search, Assistant, Photos, Gmail, etc.). In addition, to celebrate this milestone, Play Points members can now earn 10x points on all their purchases by activating the points adder.
