Looking at the code, it appears that the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are codenamed “Shiba” and “Husky” respectively. Considering that Google’s current flagships, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, are codenamed “Panther” and “Cheetah” respectively, the codenames for the Pixel 8 series seem to make sense.

Other details about the chip are not available at the moment, but Samsung has already started developing the Exynos 2300 chip, which will probably be the reference platform for the next generation of Tensor chips, if nothing else.

According to the report, the two phones will offer 12GB RAM and run Android 14. foreign media also found that the Android 14 code name is probably Upside Down Cake, while the Pixel 8 display resolution seems to be 2268×1080 pixels, while the Pixel 8 Pro is 2822×1344.

There are some previous rumors that the Pixel 8 Pro may be equipped with an ultrasonic sensor, which in theory should be better than the optical fingerprint sensor used in the Pixel 6 and 7 series, so stay tuned.
