Google launches refund process for cloud gaming platform Stadia in UK, Canada and other regions

0

The Google Stadia cloud gaming service platform was launched in 2019 and will officially close on January 18, 2023.

Google started the refund process on November 9, but it is worth noting that the refund was limited to the U.S. market at that time. Citing feedback from foreign tech media NeoWin and users on social media, Google has already started the refund process in the UK, Canada and some European countries, and some users have already received refund emails from Google.

Google’s refund process will be online in more countries and regions one after another. As Google previously mentioned, the refund only covers the cost of hardware purchases such as the Stadia controller and Play and Watch with Google TV packages, or other downloadable content (DLC) purchased through the Stadia Store. It does not include the monthly cost of Stadia Pro, Stadia’s premium subscription service.

If users have purchased Ubisoft games, they can transfer them to their device via Ubisoft Connect, although it is unclear if previous game progress will be retained.
