Google launches Magic Editor, an AI one-click P-map tool

At the Google I/O 2023 developer conference held early this morning, Google opened with a focus on generative AI and introduced a feature called Magic Editor, which uses generative AI to allow users to make significant edits to photos without professional tools.

Google shared several examples of Magic Editor in action, such as in a photo of a person in front of a waterfall, where Google moved the person to the side of the photo, erased the person in the background, and made the sky bluer.

In another photo, Magic Editor makes a child sitting on a bench move to the right and automatically generates a new bench and balloon section, and the sky is more vibrant.

However, the feature isn’t perfect, such as the crease in the bag strap in the waterfall photo and the shadowing error under the second bench. Google says the feature will be available in Googe Photo later this year.
