Google launches Android 13 downgrade 12 program for Pixel 6 series

Earlier this month, Google launched Android 13 for Pixel phones. However, due to the bootloader update, the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6A with custom Tensor chips could not be brushed back to Android 12 after upgrading to Android 13.

Today, Google is offering a downgrade solution for these three phones by uploading a developer support version of Android 12 and Android 12L, which is only for those who do software development and can be downgraded from Android 13 to Android 12 without being affected by the anti-rollback mechanism.

However, this version is a special adaptation that cannot receive OTA security updates and carries security patches that are not the latest, so it is not suitable for ordinary users.

The Google will start pushing the Android 13 QPR1 Beta update from September, which will last until March 2023, followed by the Android 14 beta.

Google has also removed the list of compatible devices from its website, and users will have to log into their accounts before they can check if their devices are supported.
