Google has started refunding Stadia cloud game users and all game costs will be refunded in the same way

In September, Google announced that it would shut down its Stadia cloud gaming service in early 2023. Google also announced at the time that it planned to refund all games that users had purchased on Stadia since its launch. Now, those games have started to be refunded, but it may take a few more months to clear them all.

The Stadia service will shut down on January 18, 2023, with the Stadia store now offline and Google stopping charging for the Stadia Pro subscription service.

While Stadia Pro subscribers will not receive a refund, any games purchased through Stadia will automatically receive a refund.

Google is asking Stadia customers not to contact customer support about refunds for the game. Google says that you can’t speed up refunds even if you go to customer service, so it wants customers to avoid contacting customer service to give feedback about Stadia refunds until January, when the majority of refunds should have already arrived.

According to the report, customers who purchased 20 games / DLC or less on Stadia will receive a separate refund email for each game, while those who purchased more than 20 games will only receive one email detailing all refunds.

In addition, if refunds cannot be made through the original payment method, Google will contact these customers again to work out an alternative plan.
