Google ChromeOS 107 Released: Added Save Virtual Desktops and Improved File Applications

0

Google has been quietly releasing ChromeOS for the past few months, and the recent release of ChromeOS 107 brings significant new features and improvements.

The biggest new feature in ChromeOS 107 is the ability to save virtual desktops, and with the click of a button, users can “Save Desktop for Later” on the Overview screen and specify a name, see the date it was created, and quickly browse icons. The new version of the desktop is available on the “Overview” screen.

Closing an open desktop from the Overview menu is now easier, and a short “undo” prompt pops up in case you accidentally close the desktop and want to restore it. Google is also reportedly testing a merge feature, so users can combine open desktops into one.

The Recent view in the Documents application has been newly designed, along with a “Documents” filter. In addition, the list below is arranged by date, not just a normal list. Finally, special color symbols now pop up once the user presses and holds the virtual or physical keyboard. If this doesn’t work, you may want to enable the following flag in Chrome.
