Google I / O 2023, Google’s annual developer event and showcase for its latest technologies and products, will be held on May 10, on April 26. Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed some of the conference’s highlights during its Q1 earnings call on April 25, including artificial intelligence, Pixel phones and Android 14.

Sundar Pichai said Google will share how it is using artificial intelligence in its various products at the conference, particularly the Pixel phones, as well as bringing exciting new features to Android 14. According to rumours, Google will be unveiling new devices at the conference such as the Pixel 7a, the Pixel tablet and the Pixel folding screen phone. However, Pichai didn’t reveal specific details, only hinting that the Pixel phones will have some artificial intelligence-related features. As for Android 14, we’re also expecting to see some major updates and improvements, although the previews that have been released so far don’t show many clues.

Before the conference call began, Sundar Pichai also tweeted a photo showing him and a team of Google executives preparing for the meeting. There are some interesting details in the photo, such as the tablet in the middle of the table being a touchscreen controller for Google’s Meet video conferencing suite, and a blurry device next to the table that could be a Pixel folding screen phone.

There was also a pair of white work trousers hanging on a hanger in one corner of the room, possibly a response to a reference to “Sandal” in the US series Succession. In the fifth episode of the fourth season of Succession, a series about power struggles in the media and finance world, a character mentions his and Pichai’s mockery of “Sundar Pichai’s” overalls at the Sun Valley Conference. The Sun Valley Conference is a high-profile conference that brings together leaders in technology and other industries, which Pichai has attended. Pichai responds to the mockery in the TV series in this subtle and humorous way.
