Google ADT-3 has been discontinued, the only device currently available running Android TV 13

The ADT-3 has been the preferred test platform for Android TV and Google TV developers, and is currently the only device capable of running Android TV 13. After months of being out of stock on the official website, foreign tech media have confirmed that the ADT-3 has been discontinued.

The ADT-3 is Google’s third developer device for developers, primarily facilitating developers to test their apps on the latest Android TV system. the ADT-3 was released in January 2020 for $79 and is sold through its manufacturer Askey.

Askey has been selling the ADT-3 for the past three years, but according to our findings, the company’s website has been out of stock for the past few months, possibly as far back as summer 2021. With that in mind, it’s obviously difficult for developers to get the device. However, Google’s Android TV 13 and Google TV 13 Developer Preview are still only available for the device.

Over the past month or two, Askey’s ADT-3 online listing has been transformed into a simple FAQ page that can answer basic questions about the device. There is not even a mention of “out of stock” or more detailed information about the device.

Foreign technology media 9to5Google has gotten official confirmation from Askey that the ADT-3 has been discontinued and is no longer available to other channels.
