Gmail and Google News update for iOS 16, support for Widget

0

Google was one of the first companies to support iOS 16 widgets, and today two apps, Gmail and Google News are joining the support. Apple users can now visit the App Store and download or update both apps for a new widget experience.

In the case of Gmail, in addition to the usual widgets of different sizes, the app supports a one-line widget experience similar to the Weather app. Using this mode, Gmail can display the number of new messages next to the date.

As more and more apps add support for iOS widgets, the biggest problem in using them at this stage is the feature itself. Users cannot add more than four standard widgets and a single-line version to the top of the screen. In addition, Apple only allows standard sizes, so in the case of Google News, you are very limited in what you can see.
