Global March browser wars: Chrome share of 64.8%, Safari share of 19.5%

Research firm statcounter has released its April 2023 report, revealing the latest statistics about browsers.

Attached are the following for all platforms:

Chrome ranked first in March with a 64.8 percent global market share, down 0.96 percentage points from the previous month's 65.76 percent market share.

Safari came in second with 19.5 percent share, up 0.66 percentage points from the previous month.

Edge ranked third with 4.63 percent share, up 0.35 percentage points from last month.

Finally, Firefox ranked fourth with 2.93% share, essentially unchanged from the previous month.

Samsung, Opera, UC Browser and other browsers split the remaining market share.

On the desktop:

Chrome ranked first in March with 65.8% of the global market share, down 0.35 percentage points from 66.15% last month.

Edge came in second with 11.12 percent share, up 0.27 percentage points from the previous month.

Safari ranked third with 10.91% share, up 0.78 percentage points from the previous month.

Finally, Firefox ranked fourth with a share of 6.48%, down 0.36 percentage points from last month.

The remaining market share was split among Opera, Internet Explorer and 360 Safe Browser.

On the mobile side:

Chrome ranked first in March with 64.67% of the global market share, down 1.43 percentage points from 66.1% the previous month.

Safari came in second with 25.07 percent share, up 1.11 percentage points from the previous month.

Samsung was third with 4.49 percent share, up 0.12 percentage points from the previous month;

Finally, Opera ranked fourth with 1.8% share, up 0.09 percentage points from the previous month.

UC Browser, Android Browser, Firefox and other browsers split the remaining market share.
