GitHub Launches Two Variable Open Source Fonts with Custom Font Weight, Width, and Skew

In the recent Github Universe 2022, GitHub launched two variable open source fonts, respectively, Mona Sans and Hubot Sans.

According to GitHub, these two fonts are two files that have thousands of variations, opening up endless possibilities.

Mona Sans
Mona Sans is a powerful and versatile typeface with a Degarism design inspired by the grotesquerie of the industrial age. Mona Sans fonts are suitable for product, web and print applications.

Mona Sans is a variable font. Variable fonts allow different variants of a font to be combined into one file, and all major browsers support variable fonts, allowing for improved performance and fine control over font weight, width and slant.

Hubot Sans
Inspired by Mona’s robot companion, Hubot Sans’ more geometric elements give a technical and unique feel that’s perfect for headlines, quotes, and more.

Likewise, Hubot Sans is a variable font, as shown in the following image.
