Geely Automobile officially announced that Geely Automobile has recently completed the world’s first driverless car drift based on its self-developed AI digital chassis.

As can be seen from the animation, the test vehicle realizes unmanned autonomous driving on ice and snow roads, automatically starts to drift, and continuously adjusts the body posture to maintain drift.

According to reports, driverless car drifting is an important part of Geely’s AI digital chassis technology, which demonstrates Geely’s cross-domain integration capabilities in AI large models, digital chassis, intelligent driving and other multi-field technologies.

The perception large model algorithm integrating software and hardware can perceive and predict vehicle status in real time;

Millisecond-level wire-controlled steering controls the drift direction;

The wheel motors with refined torque loss control provide real-time distribution of power for drifting.

Geely Automobile said that with the technology of driverless car drifting, basic capabilities such as crab walking and tank U-turning can be “easily realized.” Smart electric vehicles based on driverless car drift technology can bring users a higher level of intelligent safety assistance, such as stronger active avoidance, active braking, etc. At the same time, it will also bring users a more intelligent and safer driving experience in scenarios such as rescuing the vehicle when it drifts, drifting assistance in fixed places, and drifting and obstacle avoidance in extreme traffic conditions.

It is learned from Geely Auto officials that the company will accelerate the application of high-end new energy technologies such as AI digital chassis to mainstream products, and mass-produce Geely Galaxy, Lynk & Co and other products no later than next year.
