The Chinese car manufacturer, Geely has completed the acquisition of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Meizu. As Geely take the majority shares of the brand, they also share their future plans after the acquisition.

With the completed purchase of the company, Geely holds the controlling stake amount at 79.09%.

Meizu also retains its brand autonomy, as well its mobile management team remains unchanged. Huang Zhang will be serving as the brand strategy consultant.

In terms of management and leadership, Shen Ziyu, the current vice-chairman of Geely will serve the role of Meizu Technology Chairman. Meanwhile, Huang Zhipan will retain his role as the CEO of the brand.

The acquisition of this company is viewed as a strategic investment by both Geely and Meizu.

Shen Ziyu stated that Geely car sales declined overall, given that energy vehicles have a significant growth across the market.

They plan to use Meizu FlyMe OS interface as the main system for their future electric vehicle.

The company plans to develop the phone, like a car remote for controlling the car.
