Garmin finally launches an ECG app, only available to US Venu 2 Plus watch owners for now

Garmin finally launched its own ECG application, which can be regarded as a shortcoming for its wearable devices. Like other apps of its kind, the ECG app tracks a user’s heart rate and helps reduce the risk of atrial fibrillation.

Users can record the heartbeat through the sensor on the smart watch and view the results immediately. They can also view the analysis report synchronously in the Garmin Connect App on the mobile phone, and export a PDF to share with doctors.

The feature works similarly to Apple’s Apple Watch, where users place their index finger and thumb on the metal edge of the device’s frame for 30 seconds to get a test result.

Note, though, that Garmin’s ECG app is currently only available to U.S. Venu 2 Plus watch owners. When other regions and models will be supported, remains to be further confirmed by the official.

Garmin Venu 2 Plus can track health data around the clock, including heart rate monitoring (users can set abnormal heart rate reminders), advanced sleep scores analyzed by Firstbeat Analytic, breathing monitoring and training, body age, blood oxygen monitoring, all-day stress Score, water drinking reminder, women’s health monitoring (menstrual management and pregnancy tracking function), the official retail price is 3280 yuan.
