The Wall Street Journal reports that Ford’s new electric truck, the F-150 Lightning, is set to increase in price less than five months after it first shipped to dealers.

On Tuesday, local time, Ford plans to reopen pre-orders for the new F-150 Lightning pickup this week, but will raise MSRP by 7-18 percent for multiple configurations.

According to the report, Ford’s price adjustment is due to rising material costs and other factors. In addition, Ford says the new prices will only apply to new orders, not orders currently awaiting delivery.

The F-150 Lightning now starts at $46,974 (about Rs. 317,100), about $7,000 (about Rs. 47,250) higher than the starting price of under $40,000 (about Rs. 270,000) originally advertised by Ford executives.
