Some netizens shared the configuration list of the 2024 Mustang on the Mustang7G forum a few days ago and found that the AM radio function has been removed. Foreign technology media The Drive later confirmed from a Ford spokesperson that the configuration was removed.

A statement from a Ford spokesperson is as follows: “Multiple markets and automakers around the world are promoting a more modern radio experience, and car owners can obtain a streaming audio experience through mobile applications, FM or digitally.”

After the 2023 F-150 Lightning, the Mustang becomes the second Ford vehicle to remove the AM radio feature.

Automakers say electromagnetic interference can annoy customers with static and noise in AM transmissions. Broadcasters say they risk losing touch with their core audiences who rely on the radio for emergencies.
