Fedora Linux 38 confirms the release of Fedora Budgie and Sway Spins

Solus project leader and Budgie desktop maintainer Joshua Strobl announced today via social media that the official Fedora Budgie Spin with the latest Budgie desktop environment will be officially launched along with Fedora 38 in late April / early May this year.

Budgie Desktop is an independently developed desktop environment for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems, originally created by Ikey Doherty for the Solus distribution. Budgie is now actively maintained by a team of contributors led by Joshua Strobl and is available for distributions such as Arch Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora Linux.

The Users can install the Budgie desktop environment on Fedora Linux, but previously users were unable to install Fedora Budgie specifically on their computers via a Live ISO image.

Fedora 38 at the end of April or early May this year after the release, the official Fedora Budgie Spin version will be released, and users can download it through the official Fedora Spins page.

The Fedora Engineering Steering Committee (FESCo) has accepted the Fedora Budgie Spin change proposal today, which reads, “Budgie Desktop aims to be a feature-rich, modern desktop that offers unique ways to interact with the system (such as widgets and Notification Center Raven) while bringing users closer together with its default, more traditional look and feel “.
