Fairphone 4 gets Android 13 update

More and more cell phone manufacturers promise to provide long-term support for their devices, such as three to five years of operating system or security updates. Dutch company Fairphone provides support for a longer period of time, this year was reported that the company has pushed Android 13 to its Fairphone 3 and 3 +, and now the official also launched the official version of Android 13 for the Fairphone 4.

The Fairphone 4 was released in October 2021, the main upgrade points include a larger display, better optical camera module, 5G support, IP54 dust and splash-proof and MIL810G certification, USB-C interface, larger battery capacity, 20W fast charging, etc. Specific parameters are as follows:

The Fairphone 4 is said to have a modular design, consisting of seven modules, and is claimed to be “easier to repair than most smartphones”, with “no tools required to remove the back of the phone and replace the battery”.

In fact, at the end of last year, XDA developers released a version of Android 13 for the Fairphone 4, and it took about 10 months for the Fairphone officials to catch up, but to be fair, the officially supported update has to be better than the unofficial one in terms of stability, security and performance.
