European RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 graphics cards priced 22% higher than the United States

Nvidia just released GeForce RTX 40-series graphics cards priced from $899 to $1,599, but pricing in other market regions appears to be much higher than in North America. Hardwareluxx editor Andreas Schilling compared Nvidia European press releases and found that IAO North America is 22% higher priced in the EU market. For reference, the North American price guide for the RTX 4090 24GB graphics card is $1599, while the European market is 1949 euros (about $1943).

In addition, the RTX 4080 with 12 / 16GB of video memory is priced at 899 / 1199 US dollars in North America, while the European market is 1099 / 1469 euros (about 1096 / 1465 US dollars).

German consumers will have to shell out $300-$350 more compared to the US. It should be noted, however, that VAT on electronic equipment is around 20% in most parts of Europe.

In addition, due to energy shortages, electricity prices in European countries are also soaring, which means that PC gaming will become a very expensive hobby.

Finally, although the Ethereum PoS merger has made cryptocurrency mining deserted, the current market price of graphics cards has not returned to the reasonable level expected by consumers, and this trend seems difficult to change in the short term.
