Elon Musk: Twitter to share ad revenue from profile page views

0

Elon Musk said in a post, Twitter will share advertising revenue from profile page views, which will double the expenditure. It is reported that only the number of views of verified users will be counted to prevent robots from brushing the number of views.

Elon Musk said Twitter’s cash flow remains negative because of a nearly 50% drop in ad revenue and a heavy debt load. He has said that Twitter’s revenue target in 2023 is $3 billion, down from $5.1 billion in 2021.

Twitter recently launched a creator ad revenue sharing program, which allows creators to receive a share of ad revenue from replies to their posts, with Elon Musk revealing that the first payments will total about $5 million (currently about Elon 35.75 million).

Requirements for creators to participate (one or the other):

  • Creators need to subscribe to the Twitter Blue service ($8 per month, currently around RMB 57) or be Verified Organizations certified.
  • Must have had 5 million views on their posts in each of the last 3 months.
  • Manual review by the Creator Monetization Service is required
