However, Elon Musk said on social media that Tesla is preparing to build the Cybertruck into an amphibious vehicle that can cross lakes like a boat.
The claim was made by Tesla’s head of design Franz von Holzhausen and VP of automotive engineering Lars Moravy during a recent video show “Jay Leno’s Garage” where they discussed the Cybertruck’s capabilities.
Lars Moravy, vice president of automotive engineering, said on the show that the Cybertruck is almost floating, although it may need a little extra buoyancy to keep it going. If you are creative and willing, you can find a way to install a water drive on the Cybertruck. Electric motor, and the Cybertruck’s external power supply can power this motor.
Elon Musk agrees very much with this idea. He said that Tesla can provide such an optional package to realize the plan. All Tesla has to do is to provide upgraded seals for the vehicle to prevent water from entering the vehicle.
However, there is currently no time to plan this idea. Foreign media said that they are not optimistic about this idea because it is not easy to turn a car into a boat.
