The DuoWOA team recently released a new set of Windows drivers for the first and second-generation Surface Duo. The most notable change is initial support for the Surface Dial, Microsoft’s long-forgotten display accessory. The changelog also includes some bug fixes and general stability improvements.
Here are the updates for Surface Duo Windows driver version 2310.45:
Preliminary support for Surface Dial (still in development)
Addresses an issue where the phone may take longer to shut down/restart or the error check screen may appear during the shutdown/restart process
Addresses an issue that prevents operating system upgrades from working properly in the Windows Insider Canary Channel

Merges most common changes from Surface Duo (1st generation) into Surface Duo 2
Resolved an issue where touch functionality was not working in recent versions

You can download the new driver from GitHub.Microsoft launched the Surface Dial in October 2016, launching with three compatible devices: the original Surface Studio, Surface Book, and fourth-generation Surface Pro. Users can use Surface Dial to adjust volume, browse the web, etc., and use a series of adapted software to call controls, drawing tools, or other options to complete artistic creation. According to different usage habits, users can use it on the desktop or on the screen.
It is noticed that Microsoft seems to have given up on this accessory, because the latest Surface devices no longer support Surface Dial, and there are no follow-up products. Yet seven years after its release, the Surface Dial is still on sale on Amazon for $75.99 (25% off its original price).
