Do players wonder why there is a white Xbox Series X in the Logitech ad?

0

A white Xbox Series X appears in a new ad for Logitech’s Astro Gaming headset line, which sells the new A30 wireless headset as compatible with the Xbox Series X, PS5 and more. The ad shows a white Xbox Series X framed with a Sony PS5 and a white and pink Blue Yeti microphone, part of a partnership promotion between Logitech and Blue as well.

Logitech-owned Astro Gaming may have chosen to customize the white packaging for the Xbox Series X product, but the company didn’t customize any of the other products shown in the ad, so singling out Microsoft’s consoles, especially again the non-existent white model, for promotion is an odd approach.

Microsoft currently only has the Xbox Series X console in black, while the more affordable Xbox Series S console includes white, and the Xbox S series also comes with a white handle which can also be seen in the ad.

The white Xbox Series X was unveiled just days after Logitech announced the release of its G Cloud gaming handheld developed in close partnership with Microsoft and NVIDIA. Logitech has partnered with Microsoft on the handheld, bundling the Xbox Cloud gaming service, and Microsoft is even helping to promote the device on its Xbox marketing channels.

This is not the first time a white version of the Xbox Series X hardware has leaked. In fact, it has happened a few times. A white version of the X-Series grip leaked before Microsoft officially announced the Xbox Series X. Then the white Xbox Series S was leaked before the announcement. And even longer ago, a smaller, thinner version of the Xbox One – the white Xbox One S – also leaked hours before Microsoft’s official announcement. Microsoft also made a white version of the original Xbox One for its employees, before officially releasing it with the Sunset Overdrive a year later.
