DJI OM 6 smartphone gimbal revealed, plus OM SE entry model

It wasn’t long ago that DJI unveiled its Avata FPV drone and Osmo Action 3 sports camera. But according to WinFuture.de, the company may soon launch a new generation of its OM 6 smartphone gimbal, as well as a more affordable OM SE model. The leaked images show a new look for the OM 6, with a swivel dial on the left side for precise zooming or focusing.

The head features three-axis stabilization, complemented by the ActiveTrack 5.0 solution, which automatically keeps the subject in the frame.

The headstock weighs 309 grams and, like its predecessor, the OM 6 has a built-in extension bar and tripod leg bracket.

The magnetic clip for attaching the phone weighs 31 grams and the motor can handle phones up to 290 grams.

The built-in battery has a capacity of 1000 mAh and lasts up to 6.5 hours, with a full charge taking 1.5 hours.

The above parameters are, in fact, identical to those of the DJI OM 5.

More interesting to us, however, is the DJI OM SE model for the entry market.

DJI OM SE

The more affordable DJI OM SE head is closer in design to the older OM5.

Although the built-in extension bar is gone, the OM SE at least retains the tripod leg bracket.

The DJI OM SE also supports smartphones weighing up to 290 grams compared to higher-end models.

Interestingly, leaked data obtained by WinFuture claims that the OM SE has a larger 2600 mAh battery built-in.

Unfortunately, this does not double the battery life of the OM SE (only 8 hours nominal) and it weighs 352 grams (43 grams more than the OM 6).

Finally, the DJI OM 6 is said to be priced at 180 Euros (the previous OM 5 debuted at 180 Euros, now reduced to 130 Euros). The DJI OM SE will be priced at 110 euros, slightly higher than the OM 4 SE currently on sale.
